🕰️ Our Story
A 1960s Icon Reimagined
In the late 1960s, nestled within Milan’s innovative QT8 district—designed by architect Piero Bottoni—our building emerged as a landmark of modernity. Originally conceived to promote affordable, comfortable accommodation, it has served generations of travelers ever since.
Embracing Eco-Friendly Innovation
After more than four decades, the time had come for renewal. In collaboration with Politecnico di Milano, we embarked on a groundbreaking renovation to achieve LEED® certification, setting new standards in eco-conscious hospitality . Advanced systems — geothermal heating/cooling, solar panels, radiant floors, thermal insulation, and sustainable materials — now power our green transformation .
A Hub by the Stadium
Strategically located just minutes from San Siro Stadium, our hostel has long welcomed guests attending football matches, concerts, and events. Easy access via QT8 Metro Station and nearby bus services ensures seamless travel across Milan.
Part of a Global Movement
Today, as HI Ostello Milano, we proudly belong to the Hostelling International network. We embrace sustainable tourism, cultural exchange, and global friendship — values that have guided youth hostelling for nearly a century.
